Prescribed Walks, Unexpected Moments
What started as a routine slowly became something more.
By Shraddha
Recently, my father went through angioplasty after we found out he had two blockages. It was unexpected, a little scary — but everything went well and he's doing great now.
The doctor advised him to walk at least 2 km every day. So now, in the evenings, I go with him.
I've always been someone who goes for walks, whether in the city I live in or here in my hometown. But this time… it feels different. A little more intentional. A little more responsible.
That day, during one of our walks, I looked up and saw the sky. It was dramatic, glowing, almost unreal. I stopped. I've seen skies like this before but I don't think I've ever felt them like this. Maybe it was everything that had just happened. Maybe it was the quiet relief of things being okay. Or maybe it was just being there with him — walking, without saying much.
I took a photo in that moment, not just because the sky looked beautiful, but because the moment felt full.
These walks are not just walks anymore. They feel like time I'm more aware of. Time I don't want to take for granted. And somehow, that evening sky became part of it — and these evening walks became my favourite part of the day.
