Weight of Unsaid Words
How we complicate the simple things
By Shraddha
We humans are strange travellers.
Not just in the world but inside our hearts too.
We start with clear thoughts.
We know what we want to say and who we want to say it to.
But somewhere along the way we get lost.
We take turns we never planned and end up far from where we wanted to be.
Instead of going straight to that person we talk to everyone else.
We tell others, we write about it and we share small hints.
But not with them. Maybe we are scared. Maybe we are shy.
Or maybe we are just used to keeping things inside.
We make simple feelings so complicated.
We talk about people like they are faraway places.
We remember them but never reach them.
And like travelers who never reach the last stop
we carry our unsaid words everywhere we go.
Maybe one day we will travel differently.
Maybe we will learn to speak our truth without fear.
Because peace does not come from staying quiet.
It comes when we finally say what our heart wants to say.
